Bronagh Ryan, WHiPA Lloyd Morrison Scholarship Recipient

WHiPA are delighted to have awarded a WHiPA Lloyd Morrison Aquatic Athlete Scholarship to swimmer Bronagh Ryan, who has been selected to represent New Zealand at the 2018 Commonwealth Games.
Bronagh has been swimming competitively for 10 years, is a member of Porirua City Aquatics, coached by Nevill Sutton. In recent years she has won national open titles in both the 50m & 100m Breaststroke and have medalled in the 200m Breaststroke.
She is also the current NZ 100m Open record holder in a time of 1:07:35 and was the first woman in New Zealand to break 1:08 secs. She has broken and currently hold the 50 & 100 Breaststroke Wellington Open records.
Outside of swimming Bronagh has recently completed a BA/BC in Marketing, International Relations and Political Science and her favourite thing to do is go for a kneeboard down at her surf club Titahi Bay SLSC.
For the coming year her goals include faster times, making semi-finals and hopefully a final at the Commonwealth Games and break some more NZ records.
