

Kirsten Hudson, WHiPA Lloyd Morrison Aquatic Athlete scholarship recipient
WHIPA are delighted to announce that a 2017 WHiPA Lloyd Morrison Aquatic Athlete Scholarship has been awarded to water polo athlete Kirstin Hudson. Kirsten has been a part of the New Zealand in the Senior Women's program since 2005 and played an impressive 104 tests. She trained at Harwick College, USA on an athletic scholarship, and was recently inducted into their Hall of Fame. Kirsten is now based at the Hutt Water Polo Club, and is involved in coaching all the younger age


Brydie Pye, 2017 WHiPA Lloyd Morrison Aquatic Athlete Scholarship recipient
WHiPA are delighted to announce that a 2017 WHiPA Lloyd Morrison Aquatic Athlete Scholarship has been awarded to water polo athlete Brydie Pye. Brydie started playing water polo at the age of 10 after watching her older siblings play the sport. She first represented New Zealand at the age of 14 in the New Zealand under 15 water polo team. The following year she became the captain of the NZ u15 team. Brydie continued to represent New Zealand in the u16, u17 and schoolgirls tea


Sophie Irving, 2017 WHiPA Lloyd Morrison Pathway to Podium Scholarship Recipient
Congratulations to Sophie Irving, 2017 WHiPA Lloyd Morrison Pathway to Podium Scholarship Recipient. Sophie is 14 years old and currently attends Wellington East Girls College. She has been swimming competitively since 2011, swimming for Capital Swim Club in Wellington under Head Coach Gary Hollywood. Sophie’s passion and drive for swimming comes from a love of the water apparent from a young age. Her preferred stroke is backstroke but she’s looking to improve the others.

Emma Robinson, 2017 WHiPA Lloyd Morrison Aquatic Athlete Scholarship recipient
WHIPA are delighted to announce that a 2017 WHiPA Lloyd Morrison Aquatic Athlete Scholarship has been awarded to swimmer Emma Robinson.
Emma was recently named in the Aquablacks team to compete at the FINA World Championships from Budapest Hungary 14-30 July in the 800 and 1500m freestyle events. Emma Robinson started swimming competitively at age 13 for Wellington's Capital Swim Club, which she still swims for. She is currently training at TSS Aquatic in Gold Coast, Austr

Congratulations to Anton Down-Jenkins, 2017 WHiPA Lloyd Morrison Pathway to Podium Scholarship Recipient.
Anton Down-Jenkins is 17 years old and in his final year at Wellington High School. He has been part of Wellington Diving Club for nearly 7 years and have been a member of the Diving New Zealand National Squad since 2014.
Earlier this year he was selected to represent New Zealand at two FINA Diving Grand Prix Events in Canada and Puerto Rico, and won two Bronze medals
