At a function last night, Wellington High Performance Aquatics presented the 2016 Lloyd Morrison Aquatic Scholarships to local athletes, coaches and officials. WHiPA were delighted to welcome several Wellington Councillors to the function, including mayoral candidates Justin Lester, Jo Coughlan and Nicola Young, along with Simon Marsh and Paul Eagle. Congratulations to Rebecca Moynihan - 2016 WHiPA Lloyd Morrison Pathway to Podium scholarship recipient! Rebecca has been a competitive swimmer for nearly 7 years. Starting in 2009, she was originally part of the Levin Swimming Club, until she moved to Raumati Swimming Club two years ago. All Stars Team announced in Wellington City Council Talent ID Programme
The Swimming Wellington 'All Stars' Elite Team, which WHiPA is proud to sponsor, has been selected to be part of the Wellington City Council Talent ID Programme (WCC TiD) which is administered by the Sport Wellington Performance Hub. Congratulations to the recipients of the 2015 Wellington High Performance Aquatics Lloyd Morrison Aquatic Athlete Scholarships.
The scholarships, open to athletes and coaches in aquatic disciplines, are presented in memory of WHiPA founder, Wellington businessman Lloyd Morrison (1957 - 2012).
