At a function last night, Wellington High Performance Aquatics presented the 2016 Lloyd Morrison Aquatic Scholarships to local athletes, coaches and officials. WHiPA were delighted to welcome several Wellington Councillors to the function, including mayoral candidates Justin Lester, Jo Coughlan and Nicola Young, along with Simon Marsh and Paul Eagle. 2016 Scholarship Recipient Walter Maxwell
Congratulations to Walter Maxwell - 2016 WHiPA Lloyd Morrison Coach Performance Advance scholarship recipient! Walter has been involved in coaching at Lyall Bay Surf Life Saving Club since 2003. With his six children getting involved in the sport, Walter began coaching nippers and junior teams, and now as Head Coach he works with around 120 junior and senior athletes, and is extending his skills with additional coaching duties as Swim Coach for the club. WHiPA are thrilled to announced the recipients of the 2016 WHiPA Lloyd Morrison Pathway to Podium and Coach Performance Advance scholarships. Three athletes will be part of the Wellington Pathway to Podium programme for a two year period.
